The Solna Project comprises three contiguous permits, Solna, Teyango and Yantera, located in the eastern part of Burkina Faso, near the border with Niger. Teyango and Yantera are newly acquired, and initial work programs on these permits have just begun. The company has, however, already delineated a 30 km long zone of deformation that runs through all three properties. Work done to date on the more advanced Solna permit, has demonstrated the presence of some very high gold grades in trenches. Plans are in place to RC drill this permit later in the year.

The Solna project covers 415 square km. The Solna permit itself was acquired on the basis of an encouraging reconnaissance mapping and rock sampling program carried out by Riverstone geologists in 2004. Out of 53 rock samples collected on Solna, 14 samples showed gold values from 2.9 g/t ranging up to 8.4 g/t. The company subsequently completed soil geochemistry, limited ground geophysics, geological mapping and sampling and some trenching. This work has outlined a mineralized zone at least 1.9 km long and about 100 m to 250 m wide, occurring adjacent to a flexure along a shear zone. Some of the better trench results include: 1.45 g/t gold over 3 m, 1.52 g/t gold over 4.5 m, 7.34 g/t gold over 7.5 m and 11.85 g/t gold over 1.5 m. |
